How it works

02 — Program structure

One shape for every program: four modules, eight units.

Whichever discipline you choose, the path is the same — fundamentals first, deployment last. Each module pairs key topics with assessed learning outcomes.

MODULE 01

Fundamentals

The science and safety beneath the discipline — principles, terminology and the rules that keep work safe.

MODULE 02

Systems & design

Components, sizing and configuration — how a working system is specified and laid out.

MODULE 03

Installation

Mounting, wiring, commissioning and the field practice that turns a design into a live installation.

MODULE 04

Integration

Maintenance, fault diagnosis, grid and hybrid integration — readiness to deploy and support anywhere.

Short courses

05 — Two-week intensives

Two weeks. One specific skill. Stackable.

Focused upgrades for working practitioners — pumping, irrigation, water heating and kiln charcoal production. Run twice a year.

Solar · 2 weeks

Solar water pumping

PV-direct and battery-backed pumping, sizing and field installation for agricultural and rural water supply.

1st–2nd week · April

Registration closes 28 Feb

Solar · 2 weeks

Solar water irrigation

Irrigation design, drip and sprinkler integration and PV array sizing for smallholder farms.

1st–2nd week · August

Registration closes 30 Jun

Solar · 2 weeks

Solar water heating

Sizing, plumbing integration and installation of solar thermal systems for homes and facilities.

1st–2nd week · December

Registration closes 31 Oct

Biomass · 2 weeks

Kiln charcoal production

Efficient, lower-emission charcoal production techniques and kiln operation for sustainable biomass use.

1st–2nd week · April

Registration closes 28 Feb
